On the afternoon of November 25th, the School held the Exchange Meeting on Application for the 2022 Youth Fund Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), inviting three teachers，namely Chen Jingxian, Li Lanlan, and Wang Anning, to share their experience in fund program application and discuss with the participating young teachers. The meeting was chaired by Professor Jiang Yuanchun.
Professor Chen Jingxian, combining his own research work and fund application experience, introduced in detail the issues that should be paid attention to during the application process of the NSFC programs from the aspects of scientific problem attributes, fund selection, content design, key scientific issues, research plans, and research foundations. Associate Professor Li Lanlan shared her experiences of failure and success in applying for Youth Fund and General Fund from the perspectives of topic selection, application writing, and application attitude. Dr. Wang Anning used his Youth Fund program approved in 2021 as an example to share his thoughts and experiences on the topic formulation, research questions, research content, research methods, and other issues in the application of the Youth Fund.
The three speakers started with the preparation work for the application of the fund programs and systematically sorted out the ideas for the program application for the attending young teachers, explaining in detail the key factors for the successful application of the programs. Their reports were concise and practical, providing young teachers with experience and broadening their horizons. After the sharing session, the three teachers conducted in-depth discussions with young teachers on the application of the youth fund programs and answered relevant questions about the fund application.
