The Case Developed by Teachers and Students from Our School Were Selected as the 12th "National 100 Excellent Management Cases"

"National 100 Excellent Management Cases" are excellent representatives of local cases in China, and the case quality requirements are in line with international standards. Some of them have been recommended to the Yiwei Business School case library for global distribution. Since 2010, the China Management Case Sharing Center has held an annual selection for "National 100 Excellent Management Cases", and has successfully held for twelve years to date.

In the 12th selection for“National 100 Excellent Management Cases”, the case jointly developed by the School’s Associate Professor Du Xianjin, Huang Yao, an MBA student of Grade 2019, and Professor Wu Cisheng, namely "Leading the Frontiers of Science and Technology, Estone’s Innovative Growth Path", was successfully accepted and recognized by the National Graduate Education Guidance Committee for Business Administration.

The 12th selection for "National 100 Excellent Management Cases" was launched on March 24, 2021. A total of 1088 submissions were received from 147 universities across the country, including 15 key projects, 734 general projects, 230 micro-case projects, and 109 special projects from western region of China. A total of 103 cases nationwide were selected as "National 100 Excellent Management Cases".

In recent years, the School has continued to practise the concept of "from management practice to management practice", encouraged teachers and students to have in-depth exchanges with enterprises, closely combined practical problems in national and local economic and social development practices, developed original high-quality cases, and assisted enterprises in solving various problems in the management practice process.

Leading the forefront of technology, Esone's innovative growth path

Product innovation is the driving force for the survival and development of enterprises, and a key driving factor for their growth and profitability. Estone (Anhui Estone Materials Technology Co., Ltd.), based on the business philosophy of "creating value through knowledge" and with the innovative spirit of "grinding a sword in ten years", has achieved significant breakthroughs in several key core fields. Currently, it has become the leading enterprise in Boehmite for lithium batteries in China and the second in the world. This case takes the development process of Estone as the background, reviews the key product innovation decisions during its growth process, and describes the innovation path of a technology-based small- and medium-sized enterprise. It has achieved steady development in the niche market based on incremental innovation in the early stages of entrepreneurship, and then expanded into incremental markets through breakthrough and open innovation, thus growing into an industry leader. The case can be used as reference for China's vast number of technology-based small- and medium-sized enterprises to achieve leapfrog development through innovation.
