The Department of Logistics Management Went to Nanjing to Attend the 22nd National Seminar on Logistics Teaching in Higher Education Institutions

In order to improve the talent cultivation quality for logistics management majors and promote the national first-class undergraduate major construction of logistics management in the background of the new liberal arts construction, the Department of Logistics Management went to Nanjing from August 8th to 10th to attend the 22nd National Seminar on Logistics Teaching in Higher Education Institutions, and the Innovation and Development Forum for the Integration of Industry and Education for Logistics and Supply Chain. The Director of the Logistics Management Department, Party Branch Secretary, discipline and major leaders, and teacher representatives attended it.

The seminar was hosted by the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, guided by the Teaching Guidance Committee for Logistics Management and Engineering Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, and organized by the School of Business at Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. More than 700 people attended the seminar, including members of the Logistics Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, school leaders, major directors and teachers from logistics universities across the country, and representatives of logistics associations, enterprises, and education and training institutions. The seminar took "Integrated Development of Service Strategy to Create First Class" as its theme, and focused on the construction of new liberal arts for logistics majors, innovation of talent cultivation models, construction of curriculum system, construction of ideological and political education in curriculum, teaching research and reform, integration of industry and education for logistics majors, digital transformation of teaching, professional development of teachers and improvement of scientific research ability, etc., to conduct in-depth discussions and promote the improvement of the construction level and talent cultivation quality for logistics majors in universities.

During attending the seminar, the teachers from the Logistics Management Department of our School actively participated in various forums, including the Forum for Deans/Directors of the Logistics Majors - New Liberal Arts Construction and High-Quality Development of Logistics Majors, the Forum for Industry Development and Logistics Digital Talent Training, and the Forum for First-Class Curriculum Construction in the Background of New Liberal Arts, etc. They respectively studied, discussed and exchanged with other university teachers and relevant enterprise personnel on various topics, including thoughts and practice of new liberal arts construction for the logistics management majors, high-quality development of the logistics management majors, digital transformation and talent cultivation reform of the logistics industry, exploration of talent cultivation models for industry-driven logistics digitization, and reflection and practice of national first-class curriculum construction from the perspective of new liberal arts, etc., thus learning from the beneficial practices of high-quality development of logistics majors, logistics talent cultivation models, and logistics first-class curriculum construction in relevant universities.

This seminar exchange is not only one of the significant initiatives for the Logistics Management Department to carry out the construction of national first-class undergraduate majors, but also one of the important activities to implement the revision of our university's 2023 Version Undergraduate Talent Training Plan. Since the beginning of this year, all teachers in the Logistics Management Department have conducted multiple thematic discussions on talent cultivation models, high-level textbook and course construction, integration mechanism of industry and education, and teacher ability improvement, which has provided important reference for the revision of the 2023 Version Training Plan for the Logistics Management Major, and important support for the construction of a national first-class undergraduate major for logistics management in the background of the new liberal arts construction.
