Our School Published its Latest Research Results in Management Science, the Top Management Journal

Professor Pei Jun, PhD student Yan Ping, and Professor Subodha Kumar from Temple University published a research paper entitled "No Permanent Friend or Enemy: Impacts of the IIoT-Based Platform in the Maintenance Service Market" online inManagement Science, the top journal in management science, on March 10, 2023. Professor Pei Jun is the first author and corresponding author, and PhD student Yan Ping is the second author.

The integration and application of the new generation of information technology in the industrial field has driven innovation in the operation of intelligent manufacturing platforms for high-end equipment, and the coverage, enabling forms, and functional forms of IIoT-based platforms are constantly evolving. This paper targets at the dynamic evolution process of intelligent manufacturing operation forms for high-end equipment driven by IIoT-based platforms, focuses on the complex cooperation relationship between high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises and third-party operation and maintenance service enterprises, analyzes the multi-agent competitive operation mode in the traditional environment, and explores the decision-making problem of whether high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises should build IIoT-based platforms, and whether high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises should open the platform data to third-party operation and maintenance service enterprises in the context of building an IIoT-based platforms, namely the innovative and competitive operation mode between high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises and third-party operation and maintenance service enterprises. This paper considers the global operational decision-making scenario of multi-agent business based on IIoT-based platforms, further constructs a business integration optimization model for high-end equipment intelligent manufacturing service systems, designs a comprehensive decision-making solution method for manufacturing service integration based on global operational decision-making scenarios, and provides innovative operational strategies for high-end equipment enterprise business integration in the IIoT-based environment.
