From August 12 to 14, 2022, the 12th Youth Forum of the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics (hereinafter referred to as the "Double Methods") was held at Anhui Hotel in Hefei. It was hosted by the Youth Work Committee of the Chinese Society of “Double Methods”, Hefei University of Technology, and Fudan Premium Fund of Management, and was organized by the School of Management at Hefei University of Technology. The forum focused on "Management Innovation in the Digital Intelligence Era" and conducted exchanges and discussions in an online-offline integrated way. 22 national-level talents from renowned universities across the country granted by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of NSFC, and Chang Jiang Scholars Program, 21 university presidents, secretaries, and school deans, 15 top domestic and foreign journal directors, and nearly 400 university teachers and students participated in this academic activity.
The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Hu Xiaoxuan, Dean of the School of Management at HFUT. Professor Chen Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hefei University of Technology, and Professor Tang Ling form the School of Economics and Management at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the Youth Work Committee of the Chinese Society of “Double Methods”, delivered speeches successively.
Deputy Secretary Chen Gang briefly introduced the overall situation of Hefei University of Technology and the development of the discipline construction of the School of Management. The theme of this Youth Forum is "Management Innovation in the Digital Intelligence Era", which explores the opportunities, challenges, and future development directions of the theory and practice for management science under the influence of digital, intelligent and other information technologies. It provides an academic platform for experts and scholars to exchange the latest academic progress and achievements.
Director Tang Ling introduced the history and development of the Chinese Society of "Double Methods" (general society) and the Youth Work Committee, especially hoping that the Youth Forum, as the flagship meeting of the Youth Work Committee, would produce more and better results.
This forum was divided into three parts: the conference theme report, the journal development and young scholar growth forum, and the sub-venues thematic discussion. On the morning of August 13 and 14, at the theme report stage of the conference, Academician Wang Shouyang from the School of Economics and Management at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences gave a conference report entitled "On Several Problems and Research Progress of Environmental Management"; Academician Yang Shanlin from the School of Management at Hefei University of Technology gave a conference report entitled "Science, Technology, Engineering, and Industry"; Professor Yu Yugang from the School of Management at University of Science and Technology of China presented a conference report entitled "Theory and Practice of Data-driven Supply Chain Operations"; Professor Wu Jianjun from the School of Transportation at Beijing Jiaotong University presented a conference report entitled "Mathematical Methods and Applications in Smart City Traffic Management"; Professor Wu Junjie from the School of Economics and Management at Harbin Institute of Technology presented a conference report entitled "Data Intelligence and Smart City Management"; Professor Wang Yonggui from the College of Business Administration at Capital University of Economics and Business delivered a conference report entitled "Platform Governance: Present and Future"; Professor Yan Xiangbin from the School of Economics and Management at University of Science and Technology Beijing delivered a conference report entitled "Measurement and Application of the Importance of Nodes in Social Networks"; Professor Hu Xiaoxuan from the School of Management at Hefei University of Technology delivered a conference report entitled "Task Planning Technology in Management of Satellite Operation and Control".
On the afternoon of August 13th, during the forum on journal development and young scholar growth, deputy editors-in-chief from journals such asFrontiers of Science & Technology of Engineering Management,Chinese Journal of Management Science, etc., as well as outstanding young scholars in the field of economics and management, conducted discussions on the development of Chinese academic journals and the forefront of the development of economic management disciplines. More than 100 teachers and students from various universities participated in the forum.
During the sub-venues thematic discussion stage, the conference established six sub-venues for discussions and exchanges on topics such as "Decision and Risk Management", "Supply Chain and Operations Management", "Low-Carbon Development and Environmental Governance", "Digital Economy and Platform Governance", and "Enterprise Management and Innovation". Each sub-venue delved into the opportunities, challenges, and future development directions faced by the theory and practice of management science in the era of digital intelligence. More than 100 papers were submitted to this conference, of which more than 60 papers were selected for exchange at the conference by evaluation experts. After being reviewed by the expert group, 12 papers were recommended as excellent papers by the conference to be published in journals supported by the conference, includingFrontiers of Science & Technology of Engineering Management,Systems Engineering -- Theory & Practice,Chinese Journal of Management Science,Journal of Systems Science and Mathematical Sciences,Financial Innovation, etc.
On the afternoon of the 13th, multiple attending experts were invited to visit the Key Laboratories of the Ministry of Education for "Process Optimization and Intelligent Decision-making" and "Data Science and Smart Social Governance" at the School of Management of HFUT. The team leaders of each laboratory welcomed and thanked the experts and scholars for their arrival, and introduced the achievements of the laboratories in medical and health intelligent services, intelligent manufacturing engineering management, intelligent governance of energy environment, aerospace resource management system, and comprehensive education and teaching reform. They also hoped that the experts and scholars could provide valuable opinions and suggestions on the construction of the disciplines and laboratories of the School.
The closing ceremony was held on the morning of August 14th, with Professor Hu Xiaoxuan, Dean of the School, giving a concluding speech. Professor Tang Ling, Director of the Youth Work Committee of the Chinese Society of "Double Methods", announced the list of recommended papers, and Professor Zhu Bangzhu, Dean of the School of Business at Guangxi University, invited everyone to participate in the 13th Youth Forum of the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics at Guangxi University next year. The 12th Youth Forum of the Chinese Society of "Double Methods" in 2022 came to a successful conclusion with warm applause.
During the conference, the third plenary session of the Youth Work Committee of the Chinese Society of "Double Methods" was also held, including reviewing the annual work report of the committee, supplementing committee members, and other agenda items.
