On April 24th, the first working meeting of all committee members for E-Business Majors in higher education institutions in 2021, hosted by the Teaching Guidance Committee for E-Business Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education (hereinafter referred to as the E-Business Teaching Guidance Committee) and organized by Hefei University of Technology (HFUT), was held successfully at HFUT. The theme of the meeting was "New Liberal Arts and the Construction of E-Business Majors".
Professor Liang Liang, President of HFUT, Academician Yang Shanlin from HFUT, and Professor Liu Jun, Director of the E-Business Teaching Guidance Committee and President of Beijing Wuzi University, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Professor Qin Zheng, Deputy Director of the E-Business Teaching Guidance Committee, Professor Sun Baowen, Professor Chen Jin, Professor Liu Lanjuan, Professor Zhang Jianlin, Professor Peng Lifang, Professor He Shengyu, Professor Li Qi, and all members of the E-Business Teaching Guidance Committee attended the meeting. Professor Zhang Runtong, Secretary General of the E-Business Teaching Guidance Committee, and Professor Hua Ying, Deputy Secretary General of the E-Business Teaching Guidance Committee, respectively presided over the meeting.
The meeting began with a speech made by President Liang Liang of Hefei University of Technology who introduced the development process and disciplinary development of HFUT, as well as the characteristics of the E-Business and E-Commerce Majors at Hefei University of Technology. He hoped that this meeting could actively promote the construction of the national first-class undergraduate major of E-Business and E-Commerce at our university.
Academician Yang Shanlin introduced the requirements of the new era for the construction of "new liberal arts" and "new engineering" in his speech, emphasizing that discipline construction should be closely combined with the needs of the times, and make positive contributions to the development of the country and society while promoting discipline construction.
Professor Liu Jun, Director of the E-Business Teaching Guidance Committee, first expressed his gratitude to Hefei University of Technology for organizing this meeting and pointed out that under the leadership of Academician Yang, the E-Business and E-Commerce majors at HFUT demonstrated a distinct combination of industry and management, leading the way in the construction of new liberal arts. He emphasized that this meeting focused on the theme of new liberal arts construction and was held at HFUT, which had a deep foundation in engineering. It was not only a communication opportunity but also a learning opportunity, and had special significance for the construction of new liberal arts for E-Business majors.
In the theme report section, Liu Jun summarized the work done by the Teaching Guidance Committee from January to April 2021 in recommending key construction textbooks, new liberal arts research and reform practice projects, teacher training, and the planning and construction of teaching materials planned by the Teaching Guidance Committee. He analyzed the current new situation and requirements, and deployed the work for the second half of the year, emphasizing some key work arrangements, including the ideological and political education in curriculum, teaching material construction, and experience exchange and training for first-class majors and courses.
Professor Liu Lanjuan, Deputy Director of the Teaching Guidance Committee, Professor Qin Zheng, Professor Sun Baowen, Professor Chen Jin, Professor Zhang Ronggang, a member of the Teaching Guidance Committee, and Professor Hua Ying, Deputy Secretary General of the Teaching Guidance Committee, respectively conducted research on "Professional Construction in the Context of New Liberal Arts", "Interdisciplinary Integration of E-Business in the Construction of New Liberal Arts", "Equal Emphasis on Teaching and Research to Promote the Construction of New Liberal Arts", "Reform and Innovation of Financial Technology Courses in the Context of New Liberal Arts", “Integration of E-Business and Law Majors in the New Liberal Arts”, and ‘Ideological and Political Education Construction of the Course "Online Marketing" in the Context of the New Liberal Arts’. Subsequently, Liu Lanjuan, Leader of the Certification Working Group and Deputy Director of the E-Business Teaching Guidance Commission, shared the work on the development of national first-class professional certification standards for E-Business. All members discussed and exchanged ideas around the above topics.
Finally, Liu Jun summarized the meeting and called on all members to fulfill their duties in a high-quality manner according to work arrangements, and to play a greater role in the work in the second half of the year. This meeting is a concentrated discussion on the construction of the E-Business majors in the context of the new liberal arts, and it is of great significance in promoting the construction of the majors.
After the meeting, the attending members visited the Key Lab of the Ministry of Education for Process Optimization and Intelligent Decision-making, and the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Decision and Information System Technology at Hefei University of Technology, gaining a further understanding of the characteristics of the School of Management at HFUT in fields such as E-Business and Logistics.
