Professor Huang Youfang Gave a Special Report to the Faculty and Students of the School of Management

On the afternoon of April 24th, the School held a special report meeting in the Third Lecture Hall of the Management Building, inviting Professor Huang Youfang, Deputy Leader of the New Liberal Arts Construction Working Group of the Ministry of Education, Director of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Logistics Management and Engineering Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, former President of Shanghai Maritime University, and Vice President of the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, to give a special presentation on "Reflections and Measures for the Construction of New Liberal Arts in Chinese Universities". The relevant teachers and students of the School attended the report meeting, with Fu Chao, Vice Dean of the School, presiding over the meeting.

Professor Huang Youfang introduced the new situation faced by higher education in the new era and the basic situation of China's universities in the "four new" construction (new engineering, new medical, new agricultural, and new liberal arts construction). He elaborated on the main characteristics, problems, and construction needs of the "new liberal arts" construction in universities, pointed out the connotation characteristics and relevant measures that should be grasped in the construction of the new liberal arts, and conducted an in-depth analysis of the field of management with typical cases.

During his stay at the School, Professor Huang Youfang also visited the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for "Intelligent Decision and Information System Technology", and the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for "Process Optimization and Intelligent Decision-making". He had extensive exchanges with the School teachers on strengthening the construction of national first-class undergraduate majors.
