The Anhui Provincial Selection Competition of the 13th China National Undergraduate E-commerce "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship" Challenge Concluded Successfully
On June 18th, the Anhui Provincial Selection Competition of the 13th China National Undergraduate E-commerce "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship" Challenge (hereinafter referred to as the "ICE Challenge"), hosted by the National E-commerce Industry-Education Integration Innovation Entrepreneurship Alliance, supervised by the Anhui Provincial Department of Education, organized by Hefei University of Technology (HFUT) and Hefei University, and co-organized by Anhui Agricultural University, Anhui University of Finance & Economics, West Anhui University, and other universities, concluded at the Tunxi Road Campus of HFUT. Our university's 22 teams achieved outstanding results in this competition, winning a total of 4 special prizes, 6 first prizes, 7 second prizes, and 4 third prizes at provincial level, among which 1 second place was won. HFUT was awarded the "Excellent Organizational College" Award.
Professor He Jianmin, Secretary General of the Anhui Provincial Selection Competition of the "ICE Challenge", presided over the competition and award ceremony. Guo Zhiyong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management of HFUT, delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the School. Professor Zhang Qiang, Dean of the School of Management of HFUT, delivered a closing speech on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the competition. Li Junpeng, Vice Dean of the Undergraduate School and Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Department of HFUT, and Dong Chengjun, Director of the Anhui Provincial Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Office, Professor Li Qi from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Vice Chairman of the Teaching Guidance Committee for E-commerce Majors in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education and Chairman of the National Organizing Committee for "ICE Challenge", delivered speeches. Professor Zhang Yulin from Southeast University, a member of the Teaching Guidance Committee for E-commerce Majors in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education, announced the results of each team in the final and the list of winners in the provincial competition. Our university's relevant personnel attended the award ceremony, and various universities and their participating teams and supervisors from across the province listened to and watched the Anhui Provincial Final Competition and award ceremony through live or online broadcasts.
A total of 57 universities and 5802 teams from across the province participated in this competition. This year's "ICE Challenge" separates traditional and practical tracks, and increases the competition venues, making it the first time to hold competitions in various places. The competition adopts a two-stage system, consisting of group and final competition stages. The group competitions are conducted in the way of online defense via Tencent Meetings, real-time live streaming on the site and centralized evaluation by judges offline. 8 group competitions and the final competition of the traditional track were held at the Tunxi Road Campus of Hefei University of Technology. The group competitions at three competition points host cross-border e-commerce practical competitions (Alibaba International Station, cross-border e-commerce live streaming, and data analysis), rural revitalization practical competitions, the Business-University Corporation (BUC) practical competition and other five track competitions, which are jointly organized by Anhui Agricultural University, Anhui University of Finance & Economics, and West Anhui University. Under the care and guidance of the Education Department of Anhui Province and the high attention of HFUT leaders, various working groups of the Secretariat of the Competition Organizing Committee cooperated with relevant units and departments. Our university's teachers and students actively cooperated and fully supported the participation, preparation, organization, guarantee, publicity, and announcement of the competition news, ensuring the smooth progress of all work related to the competition. The Anhui Provincial Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education for College Students dispatched two experts to personally inspect the organization, preparation, progress, and evaluation of the provincial competition of this year's "ICE Challenge".
All participating works were selected and recommended by various university campus competitions. The disciplinary inspection team and arbitration team of the competition organizing committee conducted compliance checks on all participating works in accordance with the competition rules and requirements of the "ICE Challenge". Rectification suggestions were proposed for some works with non-standard expression, in order to standardize the original innovation, iterative effectiveness, and content compliance of the participating works. After compliance review, a total of 340 teams were selected and recommended to advance to the provincial selection competition, with 240 teams advancing to the traditional track and 100 teams advancing to the practical track.
On June 16th, Mr. Tian Wenxiang from the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of the Anhui Provincial E-commerce "ICE Challenge" gave an online live broadcast explanation of the schedule and rules of the provincial selection competition for the promoted teams in group competition. The staff of the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee for the competition organized online check-in, identity verification, and group drawing, and conducted live video broadcasts. Subsequently, each participating team entered the corresponding online waiting group and familiarized themselves with the competition operating procedures and defense procedures.
On June 17th, the competition judges' training and group competition was held. Professor He Jianmin, Secretary General of the Anhui Provincial E-commerce "ICE Challenge", presided over the training session for the competition judges and announced the opening of the Anhui Provincial Selection Competition for the "ICE Challenge". Subsequently, in 13 group stage matches of 6 tracks at 4 competition venues, each participating team presented their works for no more than 8 minutes according to the order of their lots, and answered questions from the experts of the on-site evaluation team for no more than 7 minutes. The first team from each group advanced to the provincial final competition.
On June 18th, the final competition and award ceremony were held in the Fifth Lecture Hall of the Conference Building of the Engineering Management and Intelligent Manufacturing Research Center at Hefei University of Technology. Thirteen advanced teams completed the competition through roadshows and expert evaluations. The Dream Chasing "Dragonfly" Agricultural Team (works: Junji "Dragonfly" Agriculture -- a leader in new agricultural fungicides) stood out and won the championship of the Anhui Provincial Selection Competition in this year's "ICE Challenge"; the Paixun Technology Team (works: Paixun Technology -- a pioneer in UAV delivery and scheduling) and the Rat Li Da Gong Team (works: Yiguo Yishi Realm -- a cross-border e-commerce platform that uses short video live streaming to create overseas traffic and drive sales) respectively won the second place and the third place. Thirteen teams including "Fingertip Book Fragrance" won special prizes, 33 teams including "Easy Test Technology" won first prizes, 66 teams including "Rice Bridge" won second prizes, and 99 teams including "Starry Lightning Team" won third prizes. Ten universities, including Anhui University of Finance & Economics, Hefei University, West Anhui University, Anhui University, Anhui Institute of Information Technology, Hefei University of Technology, Anhui Agricultural University, Anqing Normal University, Huaibei Normal University, and Bozhou University, won the "Excellent Organizational College Award".
The China National Undergraduate E-commerce "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship" Challenge is a national-ranking competition organized by the Teaching Guidance Committee for E-commerce Majors in High Education Institutions commissioned by the Ministry of Education in 2009. According to the spirit of the documents issued by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance ([2010] No. 13 Letter from the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education), the "ICE Challenge" is a competition that stimulates the interest and potential of college students, and cultivates their innovation awareness, creative thinking, entrepreneurial ability, and teamwork spirit. The "ICE Challenge" ranks third among the 57 events in the latest National College Student Competition Rankings released by the Chinese Association of Higher Education. It is a college student technology competition trusted and supported by a large number of teachers and students nationwide. The purpose of the competition is to strengthen innovation awareness, guide creative thinking, exercise entrepreneurial ability, and advocate team spirit. The value of competitions: competitions promote teaching, competitions promote practice, competitions promote creativity, and competitions promote education.
