From July 8th to July 9th, 2023, the 4th National Operations Research/Data, Modeling, and Decision-making Teaching Seminar, jointly organized by the School of Management of Hefei University of Technology and the School of Management of University of Science and Technology of China, was successfully held. The seminar invited Professor Liang Liang from Hefei University of Technology, Mr. Gao Jiyao, Vice President of Cardinal Operations, Professor Shang Wenfang from Zhengzhou University, Professor Luo Kaiping from Beihang University, Professor Yang Feng from University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Yang Chaolin from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Professor Li Munan from South China University of Technology, Professor Jiang Yuanchun from Hefei University of Technology, and Professor Zhang Ziqiong from Harbin Institute of Technology, to share their experience and exploration in teaching operations research/data, modeling and decision-making. It was held in the Conference Building of the Engineering Management and Intelligent Manufacturing Research Center of our school.
Experts and scholars attending the seminar shared the following issues: enterprise digitization, the practical application of intelligent decision-making and optimization solvers in industrial scenarios, the teaching of the course of "Operations Research" , how to improve MBA students' ability to apply operations research, the ideological and political teaching of the course of Operations Research in the new era, the innovation and practice of course teaching models, the exploration of teaching reform in the course of Operations Research for postgraduate students in Management under the background of new humanities, Python and nonlinear programming, the design and teaching practice of data analysis course system, and how to better integrate ideological and political education into the course of Operations Research in the new environment. After the sharing, the experts and attending teachers had in-depth discussions and exchanges on curriculum system design, teaching content innovation, theoretical and practical integration, and ideological and political education in the curriculum.
More than 90 teachers and experts from more than 50 universities, including Beihang University, Sichuan University, Southeast University, Northeast University, Lanzhou University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chang'an University, Zhengzhou University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, South China University of Technology, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei University of Technology, Anhui University of Science & Technology, and Anhui University of Technology, participated in this teaching seminar.
