Personal Introduction
Dr. WANG Gang, a native of Ganyu, Jiangsu Province, doctor in management from Fudan University, is currently a professor, doctoral supervisor and head of the Information Management Department, School of Management, Hefei University of Technology. He is an associate editor of Decision Support Systems, which is a famous international journal on management information system. He is also a member of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Process Optimization and Intelligent Decision-making of the Ministry of Education, a member of the Professional Committee of Financial System Engineering of the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering, a member of the Professional Committee of Knowledge Organization of the Chinese Society of Scientific and Technological Intelligence, and a member of the Technical Committee for Standardization of Smart City Construction of Anhui Province. He was awarded the Outstanding Youth Fund (Key) of Anhui Provincial Natural Science Foundation and selected as one of Elsevier's Highly Cited Scholars in China in 2021 and 2022.
He has long been engaged in research on information management and information system, data science and big data technology, and their applications in manufacturing, business and technology services. He has presided over 4 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Doctoral Science Foundation Project of Ministry of Education, the Specially Funded Project of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the General Project of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the Key Research and Development Program Project of Anhui Province, the Natural Science Foundation Project of Anhui Province, the Philosophy and Social Science Planning Project of Anhui Province, the Social Science Popularization Planning Project of Anhui Province,the Key Research Base Project of Humanities and Social Science of Anhui Provincial Universities, etc. He has also undertaken development and research projects entrusted by many enterprises and institutions, such as USTC Sinovate Software Co., Ltd., Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science&Technology Co., Ltd., Aeris Company, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Shanghai Electric Power Research Institute, etc.. He has two academic monographs published by China Science Publishing&Media Ltd.. He has published more than 100 research papers in MIS Quarterly (UTD24, FT50), which is a top management international journal and one of the two top journals on management information system, DSS, IEEE TIM, IEEE TSMC, IEEE MIS, IP&M, Journal of System Engineering, Systems Engineering--Theory and Practice, Journal of Computer Science, Journal of Management Engineering, Journal of Intelligence and other domestic and international academic journals, and in ICIS, PACIS, HICSS and other domestic and international academic conferences. He has authorized 12 national invention patents and software copyrights. He has been awarded one second prize of Excellent Achievement Award in Scientific Research of Higher Education Institutions by the Ministry of Education. He has participated in the development of one international standard and one local standard.
He has been responsible for teaching "Business Data Analysis", "Management Statistics", "Management Information System" and other courses. He is in charge of various projects, such as the project of Collaborative Education through Industry-University Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China: "Virtual Simulation Joint Laboratory of Engineering Management and Intelligent Manufacturing" (construction of practice conditions and practice bases (2 million new engineering)); the Anhui Provincial Teaching Quality Projects: "Information Management and Information System Brand Major", "Research on Cultivation Mode of Top Innovative Talents in Information Management" and "Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Project of Business Data Analysis"; Anhui Provincial "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" Teaching Materials Project and the First-class Teaching Materials Construction Project of the Provincial Teaching Quality Projects: "Business Data Analysis". He has been awarded 3 special prizes and 3 first prizes for Anhui Provincial Teaching Achievement Award, and is the supervisor of Excellent Graduation Design (Thesis) of Hefei University of Technology. His graduate students mainly work in Zhejiang University, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Alibaba Group, iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., China Merchants Bank and other well-known enterprises and institutions.
