In December 2023, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) approved an International Cooperative Training Program for Innovative Talents (hereinafter referred to as the “Innovation Program”) themed “Data and Intelligence-driven Management Decision-making and Innovation”, which is launched by the School of Management, for a three-year duration. In 2024, three batches of application have been implemented under this program, and a total of 19 applicants were recommended to and accepted by the CSC, which include 17 joint PhD students and 1 postdoctoral researcher. The awardees will study abroad for academic exchanges and research cooperation, under the grant of CSC.
Based on the School of Management’s cooperative research agreements with Singapore Management University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Macquarie University, the program is built on superior disciplinary platforms and specific research topics, and focuses on addressing critical scientific issues and engineering technological difficulties in the context of emerging information technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. It not only offers valuable opportunities of international exchange, a broad global view and platform for development, but also fosters new vigor for the School to promote international cooperation in scientific research, discipline construction, and talent training.
Initiated by the CSC, the Innovation Program is open to universities and research institutions across the country. It aims at enhancing support for the development of first-class universities and disciplines, further bolstering cross-border joint talent training, and is poised to pioneer the internationalization of relevant domestic disciplines.
In the future, the School will seize this program as an opportunity, to strengthen academic exchanges and research cooperation with overseas partners and enhance its international influence. Besides that, it will explore and practice innovative talent training mechanisms, and commit itself to cultivating more quality interdisciplinary talents adapted to the needs of globalization for the country.
