This talk introduces two advanced control strategies aimed at enhancing the performance of three-level inverters: The first part addresses inverter nonlinearity, which mainly arises from pulse shaping, pulse skipping due to dead time, and voltage drops across switching devices. The second part presents a novel carrier-based Minimum-Loss Discontinuous PWM (MLDPWM) scheme. By analyzing clamping region boundaries, the method applies zero clamping to extend the clamping interval near peak current levels.

报告人简介

Hyeon-Sik Kim (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2013 and 2019, respectively. From 2019 to 2021, he was a Principal Research Engineer with Hyundai MOBIS, Yongin, South Korea. Since 2021, he has been a faculty member with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Gachon University, Seongnam, South Korea, where he is currently an Assistant Professor. His research interests include dynamic modeling, stability analysis, and intelligent/robust control of power electronics-based systems.
