On December 3rd, the first editorial board conference ofFrontiers of Science and Technology of Engineering Management, which was jointly sponsored by the Engineering Management Department of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Hefei University of Technology HFUT, and jointly run by the School of Management of HFUT and the editorial department ofFrontiers of Science and Technology of Engineering Management, was successfully held. Yang Shanlin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and executive editor-in-chief of the journal, presided over the conference, and Zheng Lei, president of Hefei University of Technology, attended the conference and delivered a speech.
The conference was held in an online-offline combined way, with over 200 attendees including editorial board members composed of academicians from the Engineering Management Department of the CAE and renowned experts in the field of domestic engineering management, special communication experts composed of outstanding young and middle-aged scholars, and special guests. Thirty four academicians of the CAE attended the conference, namely Chai Hongfeng, Chen Xiaohong, Ding Lieyun, Dong Erdan, Fan Guobin, He Jishan, Hu Wenrui, Huang Dianzhong, Huang Weihe, Jia Weiping, Jin Zhixin, Li Jiabiao, Li Xianyu, Lin Ming, Ling Wen, Liu He, Liu Jie, Liu Renhuai, Lu Chunfang, Shao Anlin, Shen Rongjun, Sun Lili, Sun Yongfu, Tang Lixin, Wang Jiming, Wang Liheng, Wang Zili, Xiang Qiao, Xie Yuhong, Yang Hong, Yang Shanlin, Yang Changfeng, Zhang Shougong, and Zhou Jianping (names in alphabetical order)).
Gao Zhanjun, Director of the Third Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a speech on behalf of the CAE. He hoped that the journal would always adhere to the characteristics of "cutting-edge thinking, innovative theory, applicable methods, and scientific practice", and set making itself the highest-level journal with international influence in the field of engineering management as a clear development goal, so as to contribute to enabling China to take the priority in the field of engineering management technology. He emphasized the need to effectively improve the journal’s quality and international communication competence, fully showcase high-level research achievements, and strive to build the journal into a higher-level academic platform.
In Zheng Lei’s speech, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to all academicians and experts for their attendance, and introduced the founding background ofFrontiers of Science and Technology of Engineering Management, as well as the outstanding achievements made by Hefei University of Technology in the fields of engineering technology and engineering management in recent years. He stated that Hefei University of Technology, the sponsor ofFrontiers of Science and Technology of Engineering Management, would fully support the construction and development of the journal, and would strive to promote its construction continuously and reach new levels under the guidance of academicians and experts.
Academician Lu Chunfang, Director of the Engineering Management Department of the CAE, pointed out in his speech that the publication ofFrontiers of Science and Technology of Engineering Managementfilled the gap in Chinese journals run by the Engineering Management Department of the CAE. The Department would take the advantage of expert resources and high-end academic exchange platforms to fully support the journal's various work, including paper sources, conversion of excellent achievements into papers, promotion etc., so as to enhance the high-quality development of the journal.
Academician Hu Wenrui, the editor-in-chief of the journal, sent a speech video to the conference, detailing the preparatory work and founding process of the journal. He stated that as a Chinese journal sponsored by the Engineering Management Department of the CAE, the publication ofFrontiers of Science and Technology of Engineering Managementcondensed the expectations of all academicians of the Department, and he hoped that all academicians and experts would continue to support the development of the journal.
Academician Yang Shanlin, the executive editor-in-chief of the journal, gave a detailed introduction to the journal's founding and annual publication status, its purpose and policy, as well as the composition of the first editorial board and special communication experts. The editorial board of the journal consists of a total of 117 members, including 41 non-senior academicians and 15 senior academicians from the Engineering Management Department of the CAE, as well as 61 experts in the field of engineering management. The special communication experts are composed of 93 outstanding young and middle-aged scholars.
Professor Liu Yezheng from Hefei University of Technology, the vice executive editor-in-chief, introduced the publication regulations of the journal and provided corresponding explanations. Professor Liu Xinbao from Hefei University of Technology, vice executive editor-in-chief, summarized the journal work for this year and introduced the work plan of the editorial board.
The attending academicians and experts discussed and approved the publication regulations and editorial board work plan ofFrontiers of Science and Technology of Engineering Management, and put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions on how to run the journal well. The conference also played super-engineering videos such as "Engineering Ethics Reflection Based on Building a World-Class Project -- Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Island Tunnel Project", "Innovation in Technology and Management of the First Mars Exploration Mission", and "Innovation in Technology and Management of China's Space Station Engineering".
Frontiers of Science and Technology of Engineering Management, renamed from the original journal ofPrediction, is a management academic journal publicly distributed domestically and internationally. It is supervised by the Ministry of Education, and sponsored by Hefei University of Technology. The journal is recognized by the Management Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China as an A-level important journal in management science. It is also a Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) journal, a Chinese core journal, a Chinese humanities and social sciences core journal, a Chinese science and technology core journal, an RCCSE Chinese core academic journal (A), and a T1 class high-level FMS management science journal. The journal is committed to becoming the highest-level Chinese academic journal with international influence in the field of engineering management, with Academician Hu Wenrui as the editor-in-chief and Academician Yang Shanlin as the executive editor-in-chief.
